Overview
Deftly walking the ridgeline between tradition and technology you’ll find a unique rifle, the Browning X-Bolt Medallion Carbon Fiber.
The X-Bolt 2 Medallion Carbon Fiber was developed for the hunter that prefers the tradition of a wood stock and appreciates the improvements that technology provides. The standout feature is the wrapped carbon fiber barrel from Preferred Barrels. Extensive research and testing of Preferred Barrels products has ensured their quality levels and accuracy. Each barrel begins as a blank that is precision bored and button rifled before being stress relieved. The barrels use a stronger, stiffer carbon fiber wrapping process rather than simple carbon fiber sleeve or tube construction like less expensive designs that offer the carbon fiber look without the functional benefits of the wrapping process. Barrels come in standard lengths that vary by caliber. The muzzle is threaded 5/8"-24 and is ready for use with an optional suppressor. A Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector cap are included. The action is bedded and the barrel is free floated for consistent accuracy.
Traditionalists will naturally be drawn to the beautiful Grade V/VI walnut stock with subdued satin finish and rosewood caps at the fore-end tip and grip cap. Touches like a rounded fore-end tip and point-style checkering retain the classic look, but like other X-Bolt models, this stock has a trim, nimble feel that is fast to the shoulder. A 1-1/4" Inflex recoil pad reduces the impact of felt recoil.
The engraved receiver and bottom metal are finished in a matte blue that looks sharp with the natural carbon of the barrel. The spiral fluted bolt assembly is a matte and polished affair. Low profile bottom metal ensures the focus is on the stock.
Focusing on performance, X-Bolt 2 Hunter is an ideal blend of tradition and design that will satisfy the accuracy needs of shooters. The action is bedded, and the barrel is free floated for consistent accuracy. Functionally, the action has been redesigned with additional bolt guidance surface for smoother cycling. The spiral fluted bolt has also been reworked and is fitted with an improved handle and bolt knob.
The DLX Trigger is a three-lever design that offers zero creep, zero take-up, and zero overtravel performance and comes preset from the factory at 3.5 pounds. (Adjustable down to 3.0 pounds.)
NOTE: Unless specifically listed as included with a firearm, accessories shown such as scopes, optical sights, rings, ring mounts, optic rails, bipod rails, ammunition, etc. are NOT included. Accessories are available at authorized Browning dealers and here on Browning.com.
